New Faces

I'm taking a workshop from Mika over at Motley Souls . It's called Painted Ladies ATC Book .. We are painting some Faces of Ladies and then creating a book to put them in. Mika is working ATC size. I had a problem working that small so she said to make it 5x7.. That I could do. LOL

Here are two of the Faces I have completed. I need to find the book I'm going to use and create some backgrounds.

This bottom one is suppose to be 5x7 but good ole me can't do measurements even
with a ruler!! I swear I made it 5x7 !! But when I cut it out from the paper I used it was not that size at
all!! ROFLMAO!!

If you want to learn how to draw front face and 3/4 portraits come join us
over at Motley Souls.
Mika is a fabulous teacher and you will be drawing in no time flat!!

This workshop will teach you both plus you'll have this project to do creating the book.

That's a lot for one workshop!

Hey!! Thanks for stopping by.

Been awhile

It's been awhile since I posted. My legs have changed for the worse. The doctor said about a year ago I might end up back in a wheelchair and I think the time has come. I can not stand for more then a half hour. This week I was at office depot getting some pieces scanned and ready to go into this shop in town for sale. I stood for over two hours. Went home in terrible pain. The next day my hubby and I were car shopping and the same thing happened. Since then I can hardly get out of bed. So I think the time has come that for going out I need to be in the chair. I feel somewhat defeated as years ago after my motorcycle accident I fought hard to get out of that chair! Life happens and sometimes we just have to give in to the worst and hope for the best.

anywho I did complete this painting last weekend but haven't been on the computer to post it.

She was created with Acrylics and Watercolor Crayons on Hot Press Poster Board

I'm going to be opening up an Etsy Shop real soon where prints can be bought as well as the originals
of my work.

Home Home on the Range

wooohoo my Hubby is home from the hospital!! I feel whole again and ready to create.. It was so hard to get any inspiration while he was gone. boy did I do enough whining or what? LOL

I'm back to working on 29 Faces for September. Here is a Journal Spread I did the other night while feeling good and sorry for myself. Now that my hubby is home safe and sound I feel so silly that it effected me so much. When I did paint it was so therapeutic to go into that Art Zone and zone out for a little bit.

I noticed I'm grabbing the blue paint a lot.. I wonder what that means? I'm not a blue lover but lately when I painting I think blue.. LOL

Just a phase I guess.

Being Alone

Since my husband got put in the hospital last week I have been alone and seperated from him for the first time in 13 years. Boy am I ever a wimp now. Before we met I had a job as a bartender and was a party girl living alone. How did I do it? I have totally forgotton what it was like. From screwing a light bulb in on the front porch that blew out to taking the garbage out. I need him. well not only for chores like that but for the comfort of safety. I don't feel safe. I don't drive anymore and oh boy do I feel out of sorts with out him here. shhhh don't tell him but I'm missing him terribly. I need to take a online class on being independant again. Is this a good thing that I'm so dependant on someone or bad. I think both. It's good to need someone but not so good to be so totally lost without him. What a lesson I have learned. He should be home on Friday and until then I don't feel whole. Funny when he is home I'm up here in my studio most of the time. It's just the knowledge that he is puttering around someone downstairs that keeps me safe and sound. At the ripe old age of 60 now I guess I need my partner in life. I was never one to be this dependant. I had three husbands before him and left all of them for the party life. I'm too old now and finally realize the importance of having that special someone by my side.. Geez what a sappy post this is.

On a happier note here is one of my 29 faces for the 29 faces of September. The title is Reach for the Stars. I'd rather just now to Reach across my bed and feel my hubby's hand to hold. LOL

Behind Already

I'm behind already in the 29 Faces Challenge. My hubby went into the hospital and I've been walking the hallway not knowing what to do with myself. I'm having a hard time concentrating on anything. and like wow he is only gone one day! Can you imagine in a week from now!! ROFL!! I guess I'm acting this way because we haven't been apart in 13 years. I was single for many years before that so why can't I get into my single mode and just do what I want when I want and deal with it. Because I'm a spoiled brat!! That's why! I'm so used to him doing for me.. I'm like dependent on him totally! OMG does that mean I'm a codependent or something like that??? LOL  I just like having him around that's all.. plus now I have to deal with the 9 fur babies all by myself. Geez am I whining or what! LOL

anywho here is my second face for the 29 Faces of September..

Would you believe the Background is Pink!! That lousy of camera of mine has
washed it out again.. I tried to edit it in Paint Shop Pro but couldn't bring that pink out.

oh well! LOL

29 Faces

It's Started again over at Ayala Art Blog.. The Challenge to create 29 Faces in 30 Days. Last time I didn't make it. I don't remember how many I created but it wasn't the right amount. Life just got in the way. booooo

I'm going to try hard this time to at least have my face sketched as your allowed partial projects.

My Hubby is going into the Hospital on Wednesday for about 2 weeks so I should have plenty of time to create. No excuse there. LOL  I want to stay busy busy as it's the first time in 13 years we have not been together. It's kind of scary.. I was single for many years but have totally forgotten what it's like to be on my own. I guess I will find out.. Just keep the bogyman away!! LMAO!!

Here is my first.. As always I used Neo Color Crayons and Acrylics on her.. I've been trying to go all Acrylics on some of my pieces. Learning how to Blend and Shade with them.. Art is my passion. I might not be the best but I bet I'm one of the most enthusiastic!! ROFL!! I'm consumed by making art, looking at art, eating art and breathing art.. If I was wealthy I would take any and all workshops I could to pick these fabulous artists brains and learn learn learn!! At 60 years old I'm a very late bloomer. but hey we all got to start somewhere. LOL

enough Rambling here is my first face for 29 Faces of September..

using all Acrylics

When I first started this painting on Stretched Canvas I had thoughts of using my Neo Color Crayons. I had used them before on Stretched Canvas. You just have to work a little harder to blend as they lift off the canvas very easily.. well when I started painting not only did they lift off but they gave me such a hard time I was going to can the whole thing. I got Blotches I couldn't get out.. So I grabbed for the acrylics. I always have a terrible time with them. I guess when your taught at first with one medium then go to another it's always a transition.. I had just taken a workshop with Mika over at Motley Soul where she used all acrylics. I had a hard time with that project but I went for it anyways determined to get over this fright of shading with Acrylic Paint.. After thinking I was going to throw it out for the third time I finally got comfortable with the medium and had a ball!! Don't know if it's going to be my thing from now on but I'm reasonably satisfied. LOL.. Since I'm never happy with any of my paintings reasonably satisfied is a good thing. ROFL!

I'm joining Paint Party Friday this week..

Head on over there to see some fabulous work.
