Another from Wyanne's Workshop

I am loving this workshop from Wyanne called Mixed Media with the Girls... I finished another piece and this time I used Bees Wax to finish off the painting. I used to do a lot of Bees Wax work but my hot pot filled with wax is on the other side of my studio and with my pain level being so high at times I just don't want to go over and get it down.. In other words I'm lazy!! LOL  I usually grab what ever is around me and don't get up very much... This is bothering me as my dies and die cutting machine is calling out my name to use them and they also are on the other side of the room.. Maybe the ideal studio for me would be "In the round" .. where everything is just a grab away.. LOL

There were so many mediums used in this painting..

From Watercolors to Glass Bead Gels, Designer Paper, Old Book Paper and Porftolio Water Soluble Oil Pastels

and to top it off I got out some of my Paper Flowers and used them...

Wooohoo!! I love using everything but the Kitchen Sink in my pieces.. LOL

Hey!! Thanks for stopping by!!

Mixed Media with the Girls

I'm taking another workshop by Wyanne called Mixed Media with the Girls.. I am so totally loving this workshop!! It is soooo much fun!! I'm learning a ton of Techniques like using Saran Wrap and Kosher Salt in my backgrounds.. I'm using a lot of washes and I hadn't before in my earlier pieces. Learning how to control the paint either Watercolor or Acrylics.  If you want to take a really fun workshop on Girlies this is the one to to take. She makes it soooo easy to learn if you are very new to drawing and painting Gals. I won't give away her secret but it sure is cool what she does to teach you how to create one! LOL

Another thing about Wyanne's workshops is that they are not sooo expensive that you have to give away your first born to take them!! LOL  And they are jam packed with information..

Here is the first piece I worked on in this workshop

Wyannes Watercolor workshop came in handy since she taught in that workshop how to mask..

I masked this Gal and did the background. This is how I want to do it from now on.

Usually I would Do my Gal on another piece of paper and then Glue it onto my finished Background

I would then incorporate her into the piece. I always felt something was missing when I did it this way.

By masking you can work your background and work the gal on the same piece. I love love it!!

Using Masking Fluid takes a little bit to get used to but it's well worth the practice for sure!!

This piece isn't finished as I am going to try this technique
doing a Faux Beeswax finish..

I have to get some soft gel medium glossy..

I have all the other ingredients it takes.

I'm telling you Wyanne really packs her workshops with fabulous information!!

I'm joining Paint Party Friday this week..

Head on over there to see some fabulous work..

Things at home are about the same... We have decided to go into Counceling and boy do we need it!!

John is still clean and he will be going to outpatient treatment starting next week.

Please pray that he stays Straight and that we work things out with our marriage..

In my heart of hearts I really don't want our marriage to end.

Hey you all!! Thanks for stopping by..

Long time no see

Wow I didn't realize it's been so long since I did a blog post.  This month is flying by!! A lot has happened in the past few weeks. Duh Hubby has come home. I let him come home with a lot of conditions. One being of coarse that there are no using of drugs.. The other is he has to go to out patient treatment... He went into rehab for a month.. Another is No Lying, manipulating, stealing of my pain pills.. The list goes on and on..

How is it going you ask? Not so good at times.. We both have major resentments at each other and it's showing.. I'm screaming and yelling and he is snapping at me.  Will we make it? I'm not so sure. We need some counseling that's for sure! I'm going to check into that this week.. The sooner the better I think. I missed him while he was gone but I kind of liked my solitude and how quiet the house was without another person in it. Maybe I would have gone nutso if more time had passed by.. I'm not so sure.

We have an Arch Swap each month over at OWSE and this month the theme was our favorite Song Title or words to a song.. I did a watercolor background to see where it would take me..  I found myself die cutting a house and then stamping the two birds and butterflies... and wouldn't you know it I picked a song by Ozzie Osborne , "Mama I'm coming Home"  . Now does that have any message in it? LOL

The house was created Serendipity Style

meaning I did a background using designer paper, paint and some stamps, and inks

then cut out the house.

I love doing this technique..

Oh and wouldn't you know it my Computer crashed and so did my external hardrive!!

I ended up having to buy a new laptop..

The price was fabulous thank God as I really didn't have the money to buy one at this time.

I'm so upset about my external hard drive going... I had like 13 years of work on it!

Duh Hubby is trying to retrieve the information off of it using this program that does that with
crashed drives.. Keep your fingers crossed he is able to do it.

It depends on if it's a software crash or the drive itself..

We will find out! LOL

Hey!! Thanks for stopping by..
