am I or am'nt I

Is that a real word? amn't???? no I think it's a Robyn word but anyole who I just came to the conclusion that maybe just maybe besides being an addict buying art supplies I'm addicted to online classes!  I'm going to be taking another one with Kelly Berkey on Painting Portraits in Oils.. I just started to use oils about 6 months ago and I adore them.

well my point is that I just finished a class and made a pact with a friend name Jackie that we wouldn't buy anymore classes.. I'm the first to break the pact.. I just had to... Kelly's style is so beautiful and right in line with mine in a way... Here is the link to her blog.. http://kellyberkey.indiemade.com/blog

so anywho after talking to her about the supplies for her class I decided not to wait awhile but to take it now.. and yup I did order the few supplies I needed.. am I guilty of being a classaholic? I think so but it could be worse ya know. I could be hanging on the street corners drinking and acting the fool.. Oh no more huh now that I'm in the wheelchair.. so what's a gal to do but take classes when she is obsessed with art.. When I was a professional dancer before my accident I had my dance and music and now I have art.  Yeah that's the ticket, now I don't feel so bad that I have to tell my hubby I spent more money!! GULP!!

anyways ya want to see my bird series in oils? Here they are.

and here is another gal for the 29 faces challenge

I do need a lot of help doing hair lately.. I think I'm between two styles and I don't really like it.

anyole ways again

Happy Valentines Day to all

it's a Save!

omg I thought this was going to be a garbage dweller when I was at first painting her hair.. I tried at first to use brown watercolor crayons.. They looked sooooo washed out that I went to the black watercolor crayons and the same thing happened. She looked awful.. I didn't really want to break out the acrylics but I didn't really want to can her either.. I liked her, I didn't like her, I liked her... and over and over ye ole head went.. finally I grabbed some Mars Black Acrylic and threw it on.. not so good... I got out some gray paint and started to streak her hair. still not so good.. finally I did the wet on wet technique and got what you see here.. Not so great but it's a Save!! LOL  she didn't fall into the garbage can with all the cigarette butts for friends. ROFL!!

so that's my story and I'm sticking to it!
LOL

another Portrait finished for the 29 Faces blog.. wonder if I can keep this up..

Think I'll just do some Oil Painting for the rest of the evening.

My Wild cna Crazy Gal

Doesn't she look wild and Crazy!! LOL  I title this piece "Crazy for loving  you".. I love how her hair came out.. Might be a little too much on the orange side but heck the young gals these days have hair any color and I love it!!

I'm loving using the Pan Pastels with Gesso.. Never would have thought of doing that if it
weren't for this class I took with Karen Milstein called

Simply Painting Faces

check it out on Facebook. I'm sorry I don't have the website...

She creates these beautiful pieces of very young girls...

Well it's suppose to snow again here in Indianapolis.. I usually love winter but I think I have had

LiL Sis

Lil Sis is the title of my new Gal.. It justs reminds me of my lil sister... She's not so little anymore. LOL  My hubby bought us a wonderful gift this Christmas.. It's a Heart broke in half.. One Half says "Big Sis" and the other " Lil Sis" .. I have one half and so does she. I thought that was so nice of him to think of us like that.. I guess he's a keeper... well sometimes! LOL

Mediums used are watercolor crayons, gesso instead of water sometimes, pan pastels, regular pastels

I'm still in 29 faces.. so far so good. LOL

What to do??

Now that I know this new technique for faces I don't know what to do.. I love working with my watercolor crayons and using water but the new technique calls for gesso. I want to do both.. so I will!! I answered that! LOL

Here is my gal for 29 faces with the old technique.. Not so romantic looking but pretty none the less.

I didn't realize I didn't edit this picture.. tooo funny.. You can see my shelf of supplies.. all my messy mediums.. a lot of Golden products and liquitex too. That is the back of my Studio. My Studio is always a mess. I clean it up a little bit on Wednesday's when Cindi comes over to paint. but basically it's a total wreck! I don't feel to bad so is hers.. shhhhh don't tell her I said that! ROFL!

29 Faces and OMG Where have I been

It's been soooooo long since I blogged. Where have I been?? wow... I have been doing a lot of art.. Getting my nerves up for this show I'm in in Indianapolis come spring.. and just doing life..

I have learned so much the past few month.. One thing I learned is I suck at watercolors, I love working with oil paint and I still love love creating "My Gals"..  LOL

My hubby is doing really well and our marriage is on the right track again.. He is straight and sober and one year old into his sobriety from drugs. I'm still in a wheelchair when we go out.. That condition is getting worse but my artwork helps me break through the pain..

I still listen to good ole rock and roll and classical music and I still need to go on a diet and quit smoking.. as she puffs hard on a cigarette.. well I won't get on my soapbox on how they need rehab for smokers.. no I just won't..

well anywho it's time for 29 faces again and I hope to keep up with it.. I'm ahead of the game. I have two done.. well I took this fabulous class from Karen Milstein called Painting Faces.. check it out .. I found out about it on Facebook. Don't really know a link but her art is out of this world beautiful.. I also have taken other classes since I last blogged.. some good some not so good.. I'm addicted to art, addicted to art classes and addicted to supplies... boy am I powerless or what! LOL

okay here are the two portraits I created from Karen's class.

she uses a lot of Gesso when she works... Combining it with pastels , paints and watercolor crayons... and that's all I'll say because if you take her class you will learn a heck of a lot..

Gesso, well that's another subject.. eh Cindi????? ROFL!!
(private joke)

These are not my usual style .. I love this style though and will be doing a lot more of them for awhile.

My Etsy Shop is opened again. Yeah I paid the bill.. LOL

Since I'm blogging I might as well join the party over at

If you are interested in any painting and can't get to my shop give me a shout at

Thanks for coming by. I know it's been like forever.. I promise I will post more often.. I have to I'm in 29 faces.. LOL

Young Mother

I created my first nude painting.. Though very soft and feminine you can see the starts of a pooched belly from carrying a child.. I never could have children and in the work I'm doing with Effy Wild in Moonshine Mother it came out with my clustering and free writing.. The hurt will always be there within me .. It's way down there now that I'm in my 60's but still ever present..

I'm joining Paint Party Friday.. Check out all the fab artists over there.!

Dedicated to Stacey

This Portrait is of my Niece Stacey.. not even sure it looks like her but I thought of her every step of the way while I was creating this.. Stacey just went into remission for Breast Cancer. She lost both of her breasts, her hair but not her dignity. I was so proud of her.. Then she just found out that the cancer had spread and she now has Liver Cancer. How strong is she suppose to be? My God she just went through hell!! She was going into New York City last I heard to consult doctors in a big Cancer Medical Center. I'm waiting to hear the news.. I just feel so broken hearted for her.. She fought so hard against the breast cancer and now this. Well she is a fighter.. I know!! and she will beat this for sure!! From my heart to God's ears!!

29 Faces again

It's time for 29 Faces again. Am I going to participate you ask.. you betcha!! I hope I can meet the challenge as I'm so involved in learning oil painting now and of coarse there are all my other studies lately. but I'm going to try..

Here is Face #1.. it's a cheat as I did this at the end of August. I'm actually working on a gal as we type..

This is titled "Off to Paris".. The Background was done with Tissue Paper from 7 Gypsys which is all French sayings, words and other stuffs. I love to collage and then use paint, inks and everything else I can think of. I also included a little crochet flower that was a gift to me from my friend Melody. She is a fab Crocheter and sent me a bunch of them..

Well I hope I do my link right for the 29 Faces Challenge. It always confuddles me. LOL

Hope you enjoy the challenge if you going around and checking out all the wonderful artists who participate.

New Faces

I'm taking a workshop from Mika over at Motley Souls . It's called Painted Ladies ATC Book .. We are painting some Faces of Ladies and then creating a book to put them in. Mika is working ATC size. I had a problem working that small so she said to make it 5x7.. That I could do. LOL

Here are two of the Faces I have completed. I need to find the book I'm going to use and create some backgrounds.

This bottom one is suppose to be 5x7 but good ole me can't do measurements even
with a ruler!! I swear I made it 5x7 !! But when I cut it out from the paper I used it was not that size at
all!! ROFLMAO!!

If you want to learn how to draw front face and 3/4 portraits come join us
over at Motley Souls.
Mika is a fabulous teacher and you will be drawing in no time flat!!

This workshop will teach you both plus you'll have this project to do creating the book.

That's a lot for one workshop!

Hey!! Thanks for stopping by.

Been awhile

It's been awhile since I posted. My legs have changed for the worse. The doctor said about a year ago I might end up back in a wheelchair and I think the time has come. I can not stand for more then a half hour. This week I was at office depot getting some pieces scanned and ready to go into this shop in town for sale. I stood for over two hours. Went home in terrible pain. The next day my hubby and I were car shopping and the same thing happened. Since then I can hardly get out of bed. So I think the time has come that for going out I need to be in the chair. I feel somewhat defeated as years ago after my motorcycle accident I fought hard to get out of that chair! Life happens and sometimes we just have to give in to the worst and hope for the best.

anywho I did complete this painting last weekend but haven't been on the computer to post it.

She was created with Acrylics and Watercolor Crayons on Hot Press Poster Board

I'm going to be opening up an Etsy Shop real soon where prints can be bought as well as the originals
of my work.

Home Home on the Range

wooohoo my Hubby is home from the hospital!! I feel whole again and ready to create.. It was so hard to get any inspiration while he was gone. boy did I do enough whining or what? LOL

I'm back to working on 29 Faces for September. Here is a Journal Spread I did the other night while feeling good and sorry for myself. Now that my hubby is home safe and sound I feel so silly that it effected me so much. When I did paint it was so therapeutic to go into that Art Zone and zone out for a little bit.

I noticed I'm grabbing the blue paint a lot.. I wonder what that means? I'm not a blue lover but lately when I painting I think blue.. LOL

Just a phase I guess.

Hey!! Thanks for stopping by

Being Alone

Since my husband got put in the hospital last week I have been alone and seperated from him for the first time in 13 years. Boy am I ever a wimp now. Before we met I had a job as a bartender and was a party girl living alone. How did I do it? I have totally forgotton what it was like. From screwing a light bulb in on the front porch that blew out to taking the garbage out. I need him. well not only for chores like that but for the comfort of safety. I don't feel safe. I don't drive anymore and oh boy do I feel out of sorts with out him here. shhhh don't tell him but I'm missing him terribly. I need to take a online class on being independant again. Is this a good thing that I'm so dependant on someone or bad. I think both. It's good to need someone but not so good to be so totally lost without him. What a lesson I have learned. He should be home on Friday and until then I don't feel whole. Funny when he is home I'm up here in my studio most of the time. It's just the knowledge that he is puttering around someone downstairs that keeps me safe and sound. At the ripe old age of 60 now I guess I need my partner in life. I was never one to be this dependant. I had three husbands before him and left all of them for the party life. I'm too old now and finally realize the importance of having that special someone by my side.. Geez what a sappy post this is.

On a happier note here is one of my 29 faces for the 29 faces of September. The title is Reach for the Stars. I'd rather just now to Reach across my bed and feel my hubby's hand to hold. LOL

Behind Already

I'm behind already in the 29 Faces Challenge. My hubby went into the hospital and I've been walking the hallway not knowing what to do with myself. I'm having a hard time concentrating on anything. and like wow he is only gone one day! Can you imagine in a week from now!! ROFL!! I guess I'm acting this way because we haven't been apart in 13 years. I was single for many years before that so why can't I get into my single mode and just do what I want when I want and deal with it. Because I'm a spoiled brat!! That's why! I'm so used to him doing for me.. I'm like dependent on him totally! OMG does that mean I'm a codependent or something like that??? LOL  I just like having him around that's all.. plus now I have to deal with the 9 fur babies all by myself. Geez am I whining or what! LOL

anywho here is my second face for the 29 Faces of September..

Would you believe the Background is Pink!! That lousy of camera of mine has
washed it out again.. I tried to edit it in Paint Shop Pro but couldn't bring that pink out.

oh well! LOL

Hey!! Thanks for stopping by..

29 Faces

It's Started again over at Ayala Art Blog.. The Challenge to create 29 Faces in 30 Days. Last time I didn't make it. I don't remember how many I created but it wasn't the right amount. Life just got in the way. booooo

I'm going to try hard this time to at least have my face sketched as your allowed partial projects.

My Hubby is going into the Hospital on Wednesday for about 2 weeks so I should have plenty of time to create. No excuse there. LOL  I want to stay busy busy as it's the first time in 13 years we have not been together. It's kind of scary.. I was single for many years but have totally forgotten what it's like to be on my own. I guess I will find out.. Just keep the bogyman away!! LMAO!!

Here is my first.. As always I used Neo Color Crayons and Acrylics on her.. I've been trying to go all Acrylics on some of my pieces. Learning how to Blend and Shade with them.. Art is my passion. I might not be the best but I bet I'm one of the most enthusiastic!! ROFL!! I'm consumed by making art, looking at art, eating art and breathing art.. If I was wealthy I would take any and all workshops I could to pick these fabulous artists brains and learn learn learn!! At 60 years old I'm a very late bloomer. but hey we all got to start somewhere. LOL

enough Rambling here is my first face for 29 Faces of September..

I did this on on hot press poster board and the other on Canvas on both I used Acrylics and Watercolor Crayons.

Cotton Candy Gals

I'm taking this workshop run by May Natasha called Cotton Candy Girls and having a ball doing it. Here is one of the gals I did. I used Acrylics and watercolor crayons on Canvas. I'm not sure if it's good for the 29 faces challenge or not.. I'm not keeping up with that challenge too well now am I. LOL.... I think this is my third or fourth face but I haven't kept up with my posting of them. booo on me.. LMAO!!
