29 Faces and OMG Where have I been

It's been soooooo long since I blogged. Where have I been?? wow... I have been doing a lot of art.. Getting my nerves up for this show I'm in in Indianapolis come spring.. and just doing life..

I have learned so much the past few month.. One thing I learned is I suck at watercolors, I love working with oil paint and I still love love creating "My Gals"..  LOL

My hubby is doing really well and our marriage is on the right track again.. He is straight and sober and one year old into his sobriety from drugs. I'm still in a wheelchair when we go out.. That condition is getting worse but my artwork helps me break through the pain..

I still listen to good ole rock and roll and classical music and I still need to go on a diet and quit smoking.. as she puffs hard on a cigarette.. well I won't get on my soapbox on how they need rehab for smokers.. no I just won't..

well anywho it's time for 29 faces again and I hope to keep up with it.. I'm ahead of the game. I have two done.. well I took this fabulous class from Karen Milstein called Painting Faces.. check it out .. I found out about it on Facebook. Don't really know a link but her art is out of this world beautiful.. I also have taken other classes since I last blogged.. some good some not so good.. I'm addicted to art, addicted to art classes and addicted to supplies... boy am I powerless or what! LOL

okay here are the two portraits I created from Karen's class.

she uses a lot of Gesso when she works... Combining it with pastels , paints and watercolor crayons... and that's all I'll say because if you take her class you will learn a heck of a lot..

Gesso, well that's another subject.. eh Cindi????? ROFL!!
(private joke)

These are not my usual style .. I love this style though and will be doing a lot more of them for awhile.

My Etsy Shop is opened again. Yeah I paid the bill.. LOL

Since I'm blogging I might as well join the party over at

If you are interested in any painting and can't get to my shop give me a shout at

Thanks for coming by. I know it's been like forever.. I promise I will post more often.. I have to I'm in 29 faces.. LOL

Mixed Media with the Girls

I'm taking another workshop by Wyanne called Mixed Media with the Girls.. I am so totally loving this workshop!! It is soooo much fun!! I'm learning a ton of Techniques like using Saran Wrap and Kosher Salt in my backgrounds.. I'm using a lot of washes and I hadn't before in my earlier pieces. Learning how to control the paint either Watercolor or Acrylics.  If you want to take a really fun workshop on Girlies this is the one to to take. She makes it soooo easy to learn if you are very new to drawing and painting Gals. I won't give away her secret but it sure is cool what she does to teach you how to create one! LOL

Another thing about Wyanne's workshops is that they are not sooo expensive that you have to give away your first born to take them!! LOL  And they are jam packed with information..

Here is the first piece I worked on in this workshop

Wyannes Watercolor workshop came in handy since she taught in that workshop how to mask..

I masked this Gal and did the background. This is how I want to do it from now on.

Usually I would Do my Gal on another piece of paper and then Glue it onto my finished Background

I would then incorporate her into the piece. I always felt something was missing when I did it this way.

By masking you can work your background and work the gal on the same piece. I love love it!!

Using Masking Fluid takes a little bit to get used to but it's well worth the practice for sure!!

This piece isn't finished as I am going to try this technique
doing a Faux Beeswax finish..

I have to get some soft gel medium glossy..

I have all the other ingredients it takes.

I'm telling you Wyanne really packs her workshops with fabulous information!!

I'm joining Paint Party Friday this week..

Head on over there to see some fabulous work..

Things at home are about the same... We have decided to go into Counceling and boy do we need it!!

John is still clean and he will be going to outpatient treatment starting next week.

Please pray that he stays Straight and that we work things out with our marriage..

In my heart of hearts I really don't want our marriage to end.

Hey you all!! Thanks for stopping by..

New Faces

I'm taking a workshop from Mika over at Motley Souls . It's called Painted Ladies ATC Book .. We are painting some Faces of Ladies and then creating a book to put them in. Mika is working ATC size. I had a problem working that small so she said to make it 5x7.. That I could do. LOL

Here are two of the Faces I have completed. I need to find the book I'm going to use and create some backgrounds.

This bottom one is suppose to be 5x7 but good ole me can't do measurements even
with a ruler!! I swear I made it 5x7 !! But when I cut it out from the paper I used it was not that size at
all!! ROFLMAO!!

If you want to learn how to draw front face and 3/4 portraits come join us
over at Motley Souls.
Mika is a fabulous teacher and you will be drawing in no time flat!!

This workshop will teach you both plus you'll have this project to do creating the book.

That's a lot for one workshop!

Hey!! Thanks for stopping by.

Been awhile

It's been awhile since I posted. My legs have changed for the worse. The doctor said about a year ago I might end up back in a wheelchair and I think the time has come. I can not stand for more then a half hour. This week I was at office depot getting some pieces scanned and ready to go into this shop in town for sale. I stood for over two hours. Went home in terrible pain. The next day my hubby and I were car shopping and the same thing happened. Since then I can hardly get out of bed. So I think the time has come that for going out I need to be in the chair. I feel somewhat defeated as years ago after my motorcycle accident I fought hard to get out of that chair! Life happens and sometimes we just have to give in to the worst and hope for the best.

anywho I did complete this painting last weekend but haven't been on the computer to post it.

She was created with Acrylics and Watercolor Crayons on Hot Press Poster Board

I'm going to be opening up an Etsy Shop real soon where prints can be bought as well as the originals
of my work.

Hey!! Thanks for stopping by

My Comfort Zone

I wanted to enter one of the Challenges over at Mystele's Little Glimpses Studio. Which by the way is now called Community Thrive.  Anywho I was really down on inspiration when I went over to her Ning Network. I found one of the challenges was to watch a video they provided and gather inspiration from that. Then create a piece on how it inspired you.. That was just what I needed to jump start me. As I watched this video I realized I hardly take chances in my Artwork. I don't go out of the box enough. Always afraid I'm going to ruin the piece...I stay in my Comfort Zone... So what huh? It's only a piece of paper they say! but all the time I put into it I say back. so what's time? Time is over rated anywho!! LOL

well to make a long story longer I went at this piece with screwing it up in mind. I made myself not care if I did. I prepared myself to work hard and then in the end rip it out of my journal and throw it out. It was okay with me.... That is how I tackled this challenge.. Well I didn't ruin it. I think this is one of my best pieces and I learned so much about taking a chance and going out of my comfort zone!! wow aren't I profound!! LMAO  am I going to be able to do it again?? I don't know but I sure had a ball just letting go!! Try it yourself. Create something and make it mean nothing  but some exercise.. go at it like it doesn't matter.. Go out of your comfort zone and try something that you have had in my mind but were afraid to try because you didn't want to screw up.. Knowing you were going to screw up no matter what.. Guess what! I bet you don't! LOL

I'm linking up to Paint Party Friday this week and

I love going over to these blogs and looking at all
the Talent that is on the Web..
Some Fantastic Artwork is being created!!

Let Go!

I work so hard to blend and shade my Portraits.. But because of my lousy camera I can never see it in my photos.. sooooo on this piece I said to myself. "Self, either we are going to ruin this or have the shading finally show up!! " LMAO!  so I went to town Blending and Shading this piece.. Finally I have a good picture and I didn't ruin it!! so why am I telling you this??? well duh it's because I let go that I finally had a piece that I even liked!!

So the moral to my story is "Let Go" when your creating... it's just a piece of paper.. you can always do it again, fix it or as I have done many times Throw it out!! but when you do "Let Go" you just might get some
Complete Satisfaction..

LOL boy am I Profound today!!

This Piece was done on Mixed Media Paper using Acrylics and Neo Color II Watercolor Crayons

Hey!! Thanks for stopping by and listening to me

Cotton Candy Gals

I'm taking this workshop run by May Natasha called Cotton Candy Girls and having a ball doing it. Here is one of the gals I did. I used Acrylics and watercolor crayons on Canvas. I'm not sure if it's good for the 29 faces challenge or not.. I'm not keeping up with that challenge too well now am I. LOL.... I think this is my third or fourth face but I haven't kept up with my posting of them. booo on me.. LMAO!!
Thanks for stopping by... All comments are so appreciated.
