Don't Leave Me

Don't Leave Me is the title of  my new Portrait I just finished. I'm sad and it's showing in my work. But I guess that's good as I'm getting my emotions out of me and not keeping it bottled up. A little bit of what's going on is my husband and I have come to a path in our marriage where it might not be anymore. It's not that we don't love each other it's sometimes love just isn't enough when their are Lies and Deceits going on. I won't bore everyone with the morbid details. It's just that you can not have a true marriage of two people when there is no trust. Sometimes you think you know someone like a book and you find out different. Then you go through a lot of self doubt yourself. I don't want to get to the point of hate and loathing. Of either him or myself. There is going to be a change for the better, a growth in the relationship that is positive or I have to  close the door. I feel like this man has left me, not physically but in his actions. 

But anyways I have found that through my artwork I can let it out and when I put on my classical music, paint and not dwell on the problem the answers do come. Maybe not staring me right in the face but after awhile I find the peace within myself to clear the cobwebs and come to terms.. Does that happen to anyone else? Is your work your peace also? When you let yourself go into that art trance do you find that sometimes your prayers will be answered. I'm curious.

Well anywho this Gal I created has a lot of my emotions in her. The mediums I used to create her were Acrylics, Watercolor Crayons, Watercolor Pencils, Inks and a new medium I'm using called Clear Tar Gel. I'm in love with it.. You dip your palette knife into it and then dribble it all over. Soo much fun and it looks so cool!! Then if you want you can put a wash over it once it's dry to give it subtle tones of the color your using..In fact I put two washes over it and love the effect. It's hard to see in the picture. 

I'm not sure if she is going to go up for Sale in my Etsy Store.

I might want to frame her and keep her to remind me of how I'm feeling right now. So that years from now I can remember the peace that comes in me when I paint.

Sometimes I'm so involved in trying to get everything so perfect I forget to let go and Let God.

Fear Less

Fear Less is the title of this Journal Spread I just created. After finishing it I realized what a mess it was... I was trying to Paint Fearlessly and I was all over the place. I didn't allow myself to use a brush. I used a palette knife. Then I used some stencils, inks , stamps and everything else I could get my hands on. I think this really should be called "From Soup to Nuts" LOL  I even used Washi Tape and I never use Washi Tape. I just piled it on! ROFL!!

I'm entering this hodge podge into Artist In Blogland's Challenge called Fall Fearless and Fly... My inspiration was of coarse the word Fearless.I have found the older I get the more I fear. I used to be fearless for sure. I'd jump into just about anything without thinking much about it. Now I over think everything!! and I mean everything!!

Ahhh Let's Toast to Old Age! LOL

 . 

I used these huge Foam Stamps to stamp the Fear Less.. They look like a childs writing if you ask me. LOL

By far not my best but maybe if I stare at it long enough I'll get to liken it.

Come on Halloween!

I love Halloween!! I'm way too old to go Trick or Treating but if I could I would for sure! LOL  but I do love when the kids come to the door in their wonderful costumes! It's one of my favorite holidays. Years ago I used to go to all the Halloween Parties and always in Costume. Dressing up in Costume was soooo much fun!

I used to Dance on the Tables and Kiss all the Boys! ROFL!

This year we haven't even gotten our Pumpkin yet nor bought any candy. We better get on the Ball! LOL

I've been busy

About a month ago I had what I thought was a Sciatica Attack and took to bed for the most part in excruciating pain. I'd come up to my studio and work a little bit but couldn't sit for long periods of time. I tried sitting on a pillow but after awhile the pain was unbearable. so anywho it's not really sciatica . It's the nerves alright but it's not going to go away much. I expected after about a week if it really was a sciatica attack to just go as it came... but nooooo this is the condition I'm going to have to live with now. The doctors finally gave me some anti inflammatories to take with my pain meds. Boy is that helping.. but it's just not going away.. I'll take any relief though.. These pills are giving me insomnia so I'm up all night in my studio working away. I usually did this but now instead of 2 in the morning I'm in there by midnight. Oh well, sleep is over rated anywho. 

So to make a long story longer I'm going to be getting a wheelchair for when I go out of the house. In the house I can manage because I don't stand up for long periods of time. but if I want to go over to Wally World or Michaels I need the chair... Years ago the doctors told me I'd be back in a chair. I got out of one after my accident. I got mad one day and called a Physical Therapist and had him teach me how to walk again. well years later here we go again. The doctors were right I guess. I didn't really believe it but now it's a reality. I can adjust I guess. Worse things could happen right? I have my health for the most part so I'm doing good at my age.. Yuck I turned 61 last week.

Well anywho again the point I'm trying to make is now that I had some relief from pain I've been up in my studio working away like a mad women.. Figuring the pain is going to come back bad so take advantage of the lull while I can. LOL.. I'm creating Gal after Gal and Art Journaling. I even did a Halloween Card. I want to scrapbook also to finish off an album for my Nephew...

so anyways here is what I have been working on. Whew, what a long post!! My fingers ache from typing so fast. LMAO! whine whine

This top piece is the one that was Commissioned and it's sold.... Her name is Steampunk Annie.

I just Finished this piece. I added the Romi Quote.. I just discovered Romi and I love the quotes. It's a he isn't it?? 

Yeah I'm a late bloomer.. LOL

This piece looks a lot better in person. why? cause my camera sucks!

This third piece I finished Friday Night.. I had done the background first and didn't like it.. It was going to go into the garbage can.. Like a lot of my work does.. well not really well anyways I did this gal and it went so well with this background I 

cut her out of my Journal and put her onto this..

My New Art Journal

I bought the Dyan Reaveleys Dylusions

 Art Journal and I just love it.

 First off it has a wonderful Chipboard Cover that is screaming out to me to alter! LOL  Then you open it up and it has a huge pocket to put Ephemera in. Mine is usually all over my desk, floor, shelves.. Don't tell me I might get a little organized! LOL 

  The pages are made of cardstock so it can handle a lot of wet medium.. The size is about 9x12 inches which is perfect for Art Journaling. and the big AND it doesn't have those coil binding like the Strathmore and Canson. It's more like the Moleskein but I think cardstock is better then what the Moleskein has for Art Journaling. and yes we have it at

Steampunk

I've been commissioned to do a Steampunk Portrait by a good friend of mine. So I did this one and guess what! It's not exactly what she wants.. She wants more punk steampunk.. so I've sketched a portrait for her to see first before I go to painting it. Anywho this Steampunk Gal is for sale in my Etsy store now that she doesn't have a home. LOL

She was done in Watercolor Crayons, Watercolor pencils , Acrylics and Inks.. with some old book pages thrown in.

I am going to be doing that real soon
